New Art Attack

Man ... These days no time for anything ... Just work work n work ... Not that I'm complaining :D ... Coz finally I'm doing what I always wanted to do - "CODE" !!! Though its not a pure development from scratch but still :D ....

Hmmm... Coz of this its been quiet sometime since I drew anything so this Saturday late evening of a sudden I was fully enthufied to draw something ...

Started at about 7 PM and finished the initial drawing at about 8.00... Man it took sooooo long, about half n hour, to get the lips positioned properly ... Serves me right for not scribbling so long :p

Nyways, once I was a lil satisfied I thought I'd take a break and then resumed this at about 11.00 PM and finally completed the pic at about 3.00 AM ... LoLz ... Majority of the time was spent in hunting for all the materials I needed in my 'Pandora Box' :p

P.S: For those who dunno what my 'Pandora Box' is I'll soon be writing a post on how it came into existance :D

Tried my hand at shading .. :p

Hmmm ...
I was totally BORED so forcefully made myself sit and draw something just to wile away time and since I'd never tried shading I thought now was the time to experiment.

Also, this is the 1st pic that I've drawn of a guy ... :p
My friends used to keep complaining that I always draw just girl's ka pic. So FINALLY this time drew a guy.

Its come out just OK. But yea, hopefully will improve.

My First Drawing without a Reference ...

Well, it was a day where-in I had loads of work and there was the regular chain mails going on parallelly and with awesome music in the background, it was what I would say a perfect day. You must be wondering, "How can a day be perfect with loads of work ..". Well, you would understand when you finally get work after a week or so of being jobless.

Yea, so I just wanted to take a 5 min break from the 'hectic' schedule and I dint know what to do coz my friends were not in office yet. So, I took my Keane notebook and was very keen on using this new black pen that i got from the Keane stationary [DON'T LAUGH !!] :"> ... So I just thought let me try drawing something without a reference and below was the outcome.

I actually wanted to make a flare at the skirt, but inbetween I guess I changed my mind and since i couldn't erase I just made something out of it.

Do give your honest comments on how it has turned out.
Would reall appreciate -ve comments so that I'd know where I need to improve. :)

Fallen Angel and Lil Rock Star ...

I really liked this quote "Nobody really cares if you are miserable ... So ... Might as well Be Happy :)".
Sounds nice na? :)
And my mom's bday was round the corner so I thought I'd draw something for which the above quote would sound apt. And then I found this pic of an ethereal creature fallen on the ground and decided that this was THE PIC and started drawing. This pic which I had for reference was really a teeny weeny pic of size 170 x 220. Therefore all that I could make out was a hazy outline. Thanks to my animation classes I was able to picturize the pic and drew it.
This was my first attempt of drawing from memory.
And for the frame, I mixed Red and Prussian Blue paints, to paint something else, but the outcome was this really AMAZING shade of purple which I really really really loved. And yup, for the frame I used this.
My mom really loved it [The Quote, the Angel, the Colors and of course the Purple Frame :D]!!!

P.S: This pic below does not bring out the rich purple look. :(

Hmmm ...
This is a funny story indeed. There was this time when I was all of a sudden curious about Goth and Emo's Culture [I honestly dunno why]. Goth Anime in particular. Used to really hunt for related pix and Emily is one of the famous goth/emo characters.
She's a lil gal with long black hair dressed in a black frock and often with a cat[who of course is black] ...
When I found a pic of Emily with a guitar I thought I should give it to Girish.[No idea why this pic for him]
Initially I thought It would be real difficult n stuff but as I progressed it turned out pretty well ;)).
I had informed Girish that I FINALLY drew something for him. And poor guy was all happy ...

Anyways I continued making the frame. What I had in mind was just a simple rectangular frame with a support kinda thingie behind. That's it. It should have taken me max an hour. BUT, when I was doing this I was watching TV I guess and I cut it a lil more than reqd and the rectangle went for a toss. And the worstpart was that I could not change the frame coz I had already stuck the drawing to the frame :( :( :(.
Nywayz I tried my best to repair it, giving it a zigzag effect n all. But ended up spoiling it evenmore!!!

Finally when I was just looking around here and there for some junk which I could use to fix the frame, I spotted my guitar. And an idea struck. And below is what I finally made ;)).


Now, do u think I gave this to Girish?
He He ... He still complain anytime I draw something. He says with a pout, "Yea Yea, keep drawing and keep telling that this is for you and keep them yourself .."

That Rainy Day ...

Yup ....
It was just not any other day ... This was the time when cyclone 'Nisha' made rounds which in turn affected Bangalore's weather.... It was AMAZING !!! [The weather I mean] It was COLD n WINDY and all cloudy with just the slight drizzle ... The weather was PURFECT !!!! It was the kinda day wherein you just wanna curl up near the window with a book in one hand and your cuppa coffee in the other and your fav music being played in the background ... But I guess its too much to expect :p ...
N there I was stuck in office ... :(
Anwayz .... I dint feel like working at all that day ... So I headed to our office pantry loaded with a few pencils, an eraser, a few A4 sheets[ that I picked up near the printer ;)] and my mobile ...
There I selected a place near the window ... opened the windows so that the drizzle just sprayed in and the wind blowing in your hair .... Then got myself a cuppa coffee and started drawing ....
Man ... it was an AWSUM experience ... Doing what you like to do best with the weather is indeed a moment to treasure ... I was there for about an hour and half ... and in btn in walks my PM n TL ... :)) ... PM was like,"Hey Nish, Watcha doin here ... :->" ... And at that time i was drawing Harlequinn [I was in the initial stages ... I had just completed the outline .... ]... Man it was really embarassing .... Lolz ... N PM was v intersted in that drawing n said ... " I'm eagerly waiting for you to complete that ... " ... He He ...
Nywayz it was a v nice day for me ... I drew about 10 pix in that one n half hour ...
